about

Celestial Incantations. This song is about being troubled and damaged deep down in your soul – and the fascinating and sometimes miraculous way in which you can be healed. In ancient lore, the Summer Solstice is a particularly powerful time for cleansing and rebirth, though you sometimes need an intermediary shaman or sorcerer to assist the magical passage. Experiencing “solar midnight” on the solstice near the Arctic Circle makes this very real and believable -- the sun literally does “stand still” on the horizon and in that moment all things seem possible.

lyrics

Your mind goes still
Your heart feels ill
Your soul distilled
Retreat, revoke
Prolong, provoke
Impinge, encroach

I can help you
Yes, I can help you

Advance, immerse
Embrace the curse
Entice, coerce
Endorse the spell
Corrupt, dispel
Pervert, propel

I can help you
Yes, I can help you

[“I think I can help you”, starts every line below]

Gonna chip away at your core ambitions
Divulge your innermost premonitions
Gonna find and fix the original blunder
But we’re gonna have to put you under

Gonna drop you down with those deep vibrations
Gonna set you up with those stiff libations
Gonna hurl some sparks, gonna pitch some thunder
But we’re gonna have to put you under

Gonna dig down deep, gonna get primeval
Gonna scorch the roots of your deep upheaval
You should know up front that we’re far outnumbered
But we’re gonna have to put you under

But you gotta have faith and you gotta be willing
It’s a bit of a risk and it’s gonna be thrilling
Gonna strip you down ‘till your unencumbered
But we’re gonna have to put you under

It won’t be fast and it won’t be graceful
Gonna launch some mass and it’s gonna seem wasteful
But tell me now -- did you really love her?
But we’re gonna have to put you under
